By the way, what happened to the Patters who couldn't mention Laura Bush without mentioning that accident she got into? Where did he go? Is Laura Bush still a "child butcher"? A very quick search for "Patters" and "Laura Bush" produces these:
"Laura Bush "accidentally" crashed her car into her boyfriend's, killing him, and they didn't even do a drug or alcohol test on her."
"Laura Bush, on the other hand, killed her boyfriend on a clear night by failing to stop at a stop sign."
"So, does that mean we can also make assassination jokes about Laura Bush because she killed her boyfriend in a car accident?"
and my personal favorite:
"A pathetic man like (George Bush) would have to settle for a child butcher like Laura."

My comments about Laura were made in the spirit of the over-the-top exaggerations about Ted Kennedy the murderer, and were intended to be seen as facetious. On the other hand, if you don't believe that, then I would respond that Laura Bush is apparently repenting by going public with her pro-gay, pro-woman pov.

As far as I know Laura Bush did not swim away from the scene and
wait 10 plus hours to report the accident until conferring with friends and aides to assisted her with her statement.

And, as far as I know, the police never tested her for alcohol or did much of an investigation. If only Kennedy had been so lucky. At any rate, in my opinion, she's no more guilty of murder than was Ted; they both committed tragic errors, but given that right wing moral turpitude runs rampant in Texas, it's no surprise that Laura got off even easier than Ted. In fact, even today, conservatives (like you, for instance) seem to rationalize Laura's behavior.

Actually there was an investigation and there was no probable cause for testing her for alcohol.
You seem to be completely unaware that at the time, she was a 17 year old nobody. So to imply there was any sort of impropriety on the part of law enforcement is ridiculous; there was simply no motive for any such misbehavior.

Except one was drunk at the time and the other was just an accident. In the eyes of the law, there is a vast difference between the two. But it is no surprise to see you act as an apologist for Kennedy. He's a liberal, so he can do no wrong.

And liberals like you seem to rationalize Teddy's drunken behavior by comparing him to some clueless 17 year old.
Facts are that if the Laura Bush accident happened to a nobody, the exact same result would have occurred (which can be proven by the fact that she was a nobody at the time). But if any one of us did what Kennedy did? We'd be doing some serious time.
What Laura Bush did, was stupid and probably blamed on the folly of youth..
What Ted Kennedy did was criminal, and due to his station in life was not prosecuted.. if the average person did what he did, they would have been charged and convicted of minimally manslaughter..
Comparing the two is folly and epic fail at best....
