But the truth remains - you can't have it both ways, Harry. You can't want some kids beaten up but not others. You can't feel sorry for some kids, based solely on the fact that they are kids, without feeling sorry for all kids based on the same fact. It just doesn't work that way.

Not that it's an excuse, mind you, and I'm not excusing her at all - but if the story had come out that a big black kid had been harrassing a smaller child with a handicap and several teachers stood by and did nothing and no one lifted a finger to help the smaller handicapped child you'd be the first one screaming that someone ought to take that kid out to the woodshed and teach him some manners.

Well, someone did - and you're still not happy. In fact, you're extremely unhappy.

Sorry mam, I lost my head seeing the kid cowering in the corner, if the kid has any teen age male relatives the teacher will probably receive a little 'street justice' in the near future.

Actually, that's exactly what you're doing. You are giving Excuse A, Excuse B, Excuse C and Excuse D then saying "hey, but I am not excusing her!"

The fact is, the school in question is a Charter School and thus not required by law to hire certified teachers. The teacher in question is, in fact, not certified at all. She didn't have to be and she wasn't. Therefore, she was also non-union (since the union frowns on hiring unqualified and underqualified teachers - apparently with good reason) and she was fired.

But you just keep spewing whatever passes for the truth in your mind. Someone here will be sure to correct you. Some people, unlike yourself, actually care about getting the fact straight before hitting the old keyboard.
