The main things Obama said he was looking for are fidelity to the law and the Constitution, he told CNBC, adding that he is looking for "somebody who has the kind of life experience so they understand how their decisions are impacting ordinary people."

That and the closeness to the President...huge difference though is this comes in an election year and anything on record for her or against her having to do with those two things could harm some of the Democrat and Republican Senators who are up for reelection if they go on record in favor of her while going against Meirs five years ago...

She will never pass the Limbaugh litmus test for being pretty that is for sure..

OTOH have read where there may not be as much opposition as others..

Quote:
While conservatives may find Kagan more palatable than some other possibilities for the high court, that may not translate into substantial GOP support in the Senate, particularly in an election year. In the 61-to-31 vote last March on her confirmation as solicitor general, Kagan won the support of only seven Republicans. One Republican vote against her confirmation came from Senator Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania, who joined the Democratic Party a few weeks later. He complained that she had been unduly evasive in answering questions from the Judiciary Committee.

But am sure there is something she wrote or did in her 50 years of life that will cause her to be a storm of controversy, stay tuned.

That's cute considering the fact that she was nominated years earlier for the judge position Roberts ended up filling. Its a good thing the Democrats didn't pull the same delaying BS and instead permitted him a hearing and an actual vote. If the Democrats had acted like the Republicans wrt Roberts then nobody would be experienced because no seats would ever be filled. However I do think its at least bad form for you to call her out for a lack of bein' a judge when its your side that made that come about.

Hey where were you yesterday? Some old vigilantie about 80 with white hair and a cap with FBI in gold letters started chasing me when i passed his decrepit azz. He was doing about 20 mph in a 35 mph zone, I passed even though there was a double yellow line. He put on his FBI cap and actually started doing the speed limit flashing his lights like he was pulling me over. (I think he was trying for a citizens arrest for illegal passing on your humble narrator) He chased me for four or five miles until i got into a seedy part of Holyoke (thats ALL of Holyoke) then he turned around.

Anyways i think Kagan will make a fine justice and i doubt she has any skeletons in her closet.

That wasn't me chasing you I wear a CIA hat.

Kagan seems clean and qualified the only thing wrong with her that I can see right now is she is being picked by a guy who has some pretty Ratty friends and a guy who comes from the double dealing crooked Chicago Zoo, Obama is a phony liar, he is another GW Bush only worse.

WHERE IS THE HOPE
WHERE IS THE CHANGE

AMERICA TODAY IS FAR WORSE OFF THEN IT WAS THREE YEARS AGO

BRING THE TROOPS HOME
OBAMA IS FULL OF *****
