When they impreached Clinton, the only thing Clinton did that was impeachible was lie about his affiar with Monica. The affair itself was not a crime.
Bush has deliberately lied and mislead the nation in regards to the leak. If our government is consistent, it must move to impeach Bush. If not, their hypocracy in impeaching Clinton would be glaring.

Bush should NOT be impeached. Impeachemnt does nothing....
but REMOVAL, legally, under many of the provisions of our constitution, that fits the bill much more....
He should be removed and imprisoned, much like the way he has imprisoned so many in Guantanamo, without any legal representation, without any rights......Kind of what like Hitler did................
........and serve the remainder of his life behind bars for his crimes....which are plentiful....
Execution is too soft a punishment for this man, he must be made to suffer....

I agree he should be removed, but your analogy to Hitler is out of context and insulting to Hitlers victims...way too much.

You've said this before, and I didn't understand it then, either. I'm no constitutional law expert, but it seems to me the only way Bush could be removed is by impeachment in the House followed by a conviction in the Senate. Do you know of any other provisions? (The 25th amendment wouldn't apply here.)
Whats interesting is how many politicians will fall IF the Democrats take back congress. There is no doubt Bush would be impeached. Cheney wouldn't have a chance, gone. I believe the (former) Speaker of the House is so tainted from the Abramhoff scandal that he is toast. Majority Leader (former) who has taken over Delay's position has too many skeletons in his closet. The Secretary of Veterans Affairs, Jim Nicholson seems like a nice enough guy.
However, then we are stuck with the real president, Cheney.

Talk about going from the frying pan to the fire. I wouldn't be shocked if he declared Martial law within his first week in office and suspended the Constitution. The guy is downright scary. This is NOT a well thought out plan, folks!
Yes it COULD apply. If he is physically, or mentally, incompetent to perform the job, such as alcohol,. druck inducement, or habitual lying , which is a mental disorder, the 25th Amendment could apply, IMO.
It has nothing to do with the merits of the amendment, it has to do with the fact that a majority of his CABINET, as well as his VICE PRESIDENT would have to vote for removal, and also BOTH houses of congress would need to approve by 2/3 votes. Impeachment is WAY easier, and intended for the purpose.

I kind of like the approach the italians gave to Benito Mussolini....but then, that is not quite legal in this country....But, it would be very fitting.
