(NewsCore) - An elementary school principal in Michigan is under investigation for authorizing a field trip last week for 30 black students to meet with an African-American rocket scientist, FOXNews.com reported Thursday.
Students who are not black were excluded from the outing -- a possible violation of a state law that bans racial favoritism in public schools.
"The district is investigating the allegations of violation of the State of Michigan Proposal 2," a spokeswoman for the Ann Arbor, Mich., school district told FoxNews.com.
"There was no ill-intent or malice in the principal and teachers planning this field trip," she added.
The principal, Mike Madison, who is black, said the trip was part of an effort to close the achievement gap between black and white students. But some parents whose children were not included say it clearly was illegal.
Imagine a white only field trip setup by a white principal.
We all know that a white principal would have already been fired.

Watch the slopping knee jerking crap from the Left that this one will bring out if they talk about it at all, when the 'double standard' comes out loud and clear like this one all the "do-gooders" are usually dead silent, thats why the Looney Rats over at MSNBC are silent.

I pisses me off big-time! This is racism. White children were excluded! What is wrong with this "teacher" and the parents who let their children go on this trip? They have to be out of their minds! What white kid wouldn't want to talk to a rocket scientist? Guess what the white kids are going to grow up thinking about black people?
This man (?) and the school should be sued by the AG for violation of civil rights. Absurd!

It is not about the story, it is the very tired reference to the comments about the bias of MSNBC or CNN as noted in #2 Response.. Ann Arbor Newspaper isn't exactly the Red State Press..

Is the reference to MSNBC correct? This, IMO, is a big story...not in the sense that it effects me, but it needs to be put out there so it can't possibly happen again. I have no idea how it could have happened in the first place. This is obscene. MSNBC and FOX are biased in diffent directions. That is a fact. I would have much more respect for them if they would run a story like this. Why wouldn't they?

I do not know, the AP, Detroit Press, local news picked it up.. maybe there is enough news for the day, no idea. CNN, MSNBC seems to have been picking up the other stories, perhaps it is triage.. in reality have no idea.
For some folks this is page 1, for others it is page 2.. not because of the obvious racial discrimination, but because there is so much news right now..
