So many people embracing accents, it's great. I thought we'd never get back to this point after all the venom for Palin.

I would say you do not know where to eat.. the regional food is beyond good, the music is great.. but you have to get off of Bourbon St.
Last year after the Sunday nite parade went to a party in someone's backyard, and there was a "Pretenders" cover band.. Brass In Pocket and all. The neighbourhood was crowded as most are in NOLA.. they started @ 9:30 PM and played until 11:00 PM.. no neighbours complained, it was a very cool experience.. cannot imagine that happening in a New England Neighbourhood.

Funny you say that... I was both there, and used to have a thick accent.
Again, the bostonian accent is only the A's... as in "pawk the caa". BAd, yes, but the man in the clip, every single word was a lazy interpretation of the real word...
Oh, obviously this message board has way to much twists in their panties these days to poke a little fun at people on the internet... sigh...

Will do when I'm not at work. The last time I was in New Orleans on the first night my GF and saw Ellis Marsalis at Snug Harbor after a great meal. Later on we caught a jazz/marching band style band in a hole in the wall - they were great musicians and practically high schoolers. Great experience.

Yeah, clearly the issue people had w/Palin was her accent.
Funny, too, that you describe attitudes toward her as "venom" -- this is a woman who spreads venom toward all those she doesn't consider "real Americans" (i.e., anybody who is a Dem, lives on a coast (not including Alaska) or is educated.

OT, but... really? Have you been to many places there?
I mean, if you're referring to a simple po-boy with cold cuts, I agree -- it's your basic sandwich -- a good one, but nothing special. But the creole dishes, jambalaya, oysters, etc. all are fantastic, imo. (what kind of food do you like?)
