MEXICO CITY – Amnesty International called the abuse of migrants in Mexico a major human rights crisis Wednesday, and accused some officials of turning a blind eye or even participating in the kidnapping, rape and murder of migrants.
The group's report comes at a sensitive time for Mexico, which is protesting the passage of a law in Arizona that criminalizes undocumented migrants.
Rupert Knox, Amnesty's Mexico researcher, said in the report that the failure by authorities to tackle abuses against migrants has made their trip through Mexico one of the most dangerous in the world.

it'd be nice to put a fence on our southern border, like mexico has. Of course the razor wire and machine guns might be over the top, but still they are much better than the nothing we get.

One time I was on the bus from Belize, entering Mexico.. prior to entering the country with all of its militarist themes.. the bus pulled over and they had to "delouse" the bus to make sure that no Central American critters emigrated into Mexico... it was a really WTF funny moment..
No safety warnings or anything else, they just did it.. then when entered had to get off of the bus and walk over, the mililtary control that border.. not sure if it is different all the way across, but this seemed very odd...
