HBO: Assume The Position
Did anyone see HBO's new show, Assume The Position? Robert Wuhl "teaches" a class on history. It was pretty funny, the show depicted how pop culture becomes history (the legend becomes history over fact). For instance, Washington Irving wrote about Paul Revere's ride and Revere became the legend. Revere rode for three miles while this guy, Israel Bissel rode day and night for four straight days and six hours, for 345 miles, spreading the word, "the British are coming." Wuhl said, Israel Bissel sounded more like a Jewish vacuum cleaner. I looked it up, and sure enough, looks like the real deal. Interesting.
