Default No Freedom of the Press in This Administration

I've said it before and I will say it again... Obama loves to treat the media like crap, but like an abused wife, they just keep crawling back to him for more.

Could someone please tell me there is another side to this story? I can only imagine the crapstorm if Bush were in the White House when this happened.

Most transparent White House ever... - Ben Smith - POLITICO.com

Police chased reporters away from the White House and closed Lafayette Park today in response to a gay rights protest in which several service members in full uniform handcuffed themselves to the White House gate to protest "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."

People who have covered the White House for years tell me that's an extremely unusual thing to do in an area that regularly features protests.

They get away with it in part because of the Obamabots ... the foot soldiers who defend everything they do. We have a few here ... they will be active in this thread. Make sure you have all the statistical data to back up your claim. If Bush did this even once ... or even 1/2 of once ... it will be okay.

I saw the story earlier .... I was too busy to defend another thread today ... glad you posted it.

Obama did this or did the Park Police do this orSecret Service did this????

This is regular procedure when the white house grounds are considered to be breached, the line is the fence that goes around the white house, with so many people and not being able to confirm their identity, the Secret Service has to secure the area. This has everything to do with security of the WH. Reporters have been asked to leave before if an incident is happening, so saying they haven't is just not true.

FWIW the press should be treated like crap, because they are just a little lower than whale shyt.. all of a sudden you want to deify the press in a quest to be oppositional to Obama, another WTF moment brought to you by the right.

Have any of you been to DC lately??? the layers of security have increased exponentially since 9/11.. shudder to think of the legacy costs of all of this .. you can look around and see more security than imaginable, and that is what you do see.. the hall mark of good security is what you do not see...

People whine about him leaving the White House without the press, who gives a damn.. the press are pandered to enough.. find something real to whine about.

FYI Obama was in LA yesterday... so suspect that the whole premise is somewhat disengenuous...

BTW did you read where a protester at the former head shenanigan expert, Karl Rove, had protestors arrested at one of his speeches yesterday...

For what it's worth.......they let them back in. Someone forgot to put that part in their story.

Another small point - the reporters weren't "kicked out of the park." They had been restricted to within 100 ft. of the demonstrators and were then moved another 200 feet back before being allowed to approach again.

It also seems confusing as to who decided to move them in the first place. Knowing that area, I'd say it had to be Park Police. I don't think anyone else has the authority to do so.

In a disturbing wrinkle, the police closed off the scene to the press for a time, and Mediaite has confirmed that this included White House reporters.

Eventually, the police allowed reporters back on the scene. When CBS News’ Mark Knoller saw that the police had pushed the press back, he interceded. Knoller tells Mediaite:

No big deal. It seemed ridiculous to me that credentialed press was held half-way deep in Lafayette Park for a peaceful event at the WH fenceline. So I pointed out my concern to a US Park Police officer, and after a time, he phoned someone, likely his superior, and then escorted credentialed press to the fenceline for better coverage of the protest and arrests.

At first the officer refused, saying it was US Park Police procedure. I asked him to contact his superior so I might deliver my objection higher up the chain of the command. And within a few minutes, after he made a cell phone call, he escorted credential press right to the fenceline. I thanked the officer for his effort on our behalf.

White House Press Corps Shut Out By DADT Protest; Mark Knoller Intercedes | Mediaite

CBS has some pretty good video of the arrest - which seems to bear out the story that the press was allowed to get fairly close by the end of the whole thing.

Good Work For The Gays
The Homosexuals have more balls than the phony Bush Hater Anti War Movement, will this attitude now grow and shame Sean Penn and The Susan Sarandon gang into finally giving Obama some of the same treatment they gave Bush.
Nothing has changed since Bush left, things have become far worse, Free America is being destroyed......

Hey guyz, don't rain on Wolfpack's latest attempt to crap on Obama. You just have to keep in mind that there is nothing -- literally nothing -- bad that can happen that can't be blamed on the man.
