liberal supreme court judge is officially retiring, finding his replacement should get real interesting. He IS a liberal, do the conservatives really expect Obama to nominate a conservative?

WASHINGTON – Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens, the court's oldest member and leader of its liberal bloc, is retiring. President Barack Obama now has his second high court opening to fill.

I would like to see him nominate an American Indian, imagine how wonderful it would be for all americans to have our "FIRST AMERICAN INDIAN SUPREME COURT JUSTICE"

Interestingly enough, he wasn't always a liberal. He was appointed by Gerald Ford, a Republican president.

Yes i know, but i don't think he was a hard line conservative. From what i remember Rep. vs Dem really was like Coke or Pepsi there wasn't much difference. So he could have been consevative for those times, which would make him a flaming liberal moonbat today.

Pre-Bork, if the justice had credentials, they were approved which is how Republican presidents appointed liberals thinking they were moderates. Lifetime appointments let the justices truly express themselves.
