Default More Fraud in Iraq..

These guys are all overpaid, but they are overpay themselves even more by stealing money intended for Iraq reconstruction... the idiocy of our foreign policy gets more bizarre daily... hope they all get locked up in Leavenworth for a healthy period of time...

New Fraud Cases Point to Lapses in Iraq Projects - NYTimes.com

Quote:
Investigators looking into corruption involving reconstruction in Iraq say they have opened more than 50 new cases in six months by scrutinizing large cash transactions — involving banks, land deals, loan payments, casinos and even plastic surgery — made by some of the Americans involved in the nearly $150 billion program.

Some of the cases involve people who are suspected of having mailed tens of thousands of dollars to themselves from Iraq, or of having stuffed the money into duffel bags and suitcases when leaving the country, the federal investigators said. In other cases, millions of dollars were moved through wire transfers. Suspects then used cash to buy BMWs, Humvees and expensive jewelry, or to pay off enormous casino debts.

Iraq is a sorry mess, I once believed in what Bush did but it just turned to crap, Saddam is gone but if the day ever comes that we leave as soon as we're gone another Saddam will pop up and the horror show will start all over, Saddam was an animal but he kept those people in line, killing each other is a way of life over there nobody can help them, I can't understand why this clown Obama didn't make getting out of Iraq one of his first priority's thats all we heard from the democrats for years when Bush was in was "get out of Iraq" now the phony bastards are acting as though Iraq doesn't even exist, Politicians Are The Lowest Form Of Life On The Planet.

Patches Kennedy is a whacko but in his rant the other day he was Right On The Money, now the Left Wing Media completely ignores the wars and Gitmo they don't want to offend this pompous arrogant ass hole we have in the White House, he is their Poster Boy but his Hope & Change was all a bunch of *****.
Your right about the fraud in Iraq those guys should go before a firing squad but if what they are doing will in any way embarrass Prince Obama you won't hear much more about it, I'm surprised that the NY Times even mentioned it, maybe even they are getting sick of the Obama Bull*****.

Contractors Tied to Effort to Track and Kill Militants - NYTimes.com

Quote:
KABUL, Afghanistan — Under the cover of a benign government information-gathering program, a Defense Department official set up a network of private contractors in Afghanistan and Pakistan to help track and kill suspected militants, according to military officials and businessmen in Afghanistan and the United States.

The official, Michael D. Furlong, hired contractors from private security companies that employed former C.I.A. and Special Forces operatives. The contractors, in turn, gathered intelligence on the whereabouts of suspected militants and the location of insurgent camps, and the information was then sent to military units and intelligence officials for possible lethal action in Afghanistan and Pakistan, the officials said.

While it has been widely reported that the C.I.A. and the military are attacking operatives of Al Qaeda and others through unmanned, remote-controlled drone strikes, some American officials say they became troubled that Mr. Furlong seemed to be running an off-the-books spy operation. The officials say they are not sure who condoned and supervised his work.

It is generally considered illegal for the military to hire contractors to act as covert spies. Officials said Mr. Furlong’s secret network might have been improperly financed by diverting money from a program designed to merely gather information about the region.
