FYI I got a virus alert yesterday(AVG) and one of those fake virus scanner warnings this morning. Do not click on it. Hit "Ctrl-Alt-Delete" then highlight the application and click on "end now"

I get tired of all the viruses here. Why is it that there are so many on this site? I very rarely used to encounter them in previous years.

I got one of those yesterday too. Luckilly I shut down the page in time. Those are a pain!

I don't ever encounter any viruses on this site and I don't even have an active virus scanner on my computer.

It seems to be a problem mostly with those that are not premium members.

I got another alert this morning just trying to go to pastfans.com. It wouldn't have mattered if I was a premium member or not.

So like I say I never have a problem, because I chose the keep me logged in option when I sign in, so I never have to sign in,

So I logged out and went to load a page, pop up blocker starts going crazy and I get the fake virus removal warning thing and the puter can't navigate out of it.

I logged back in and all is wonderful.

And vary it did. LOL I stay logged in all the time, too, but I just tried to click on the waterboarding thread and got the damn malware "let us scan your computer" message. I did what PatsSB suggested and immediately hit ctrl/alt/delete and it shut it down effectively.

The last time this happened my computer was down for hours and hours - and it returned 3 more times in the next couple days. I sure hope this time isn't as horrendous.

Ugh.

I had that happen also, i was finally able to run malwarebytes and it found it and eliminated it but was not easy as the virus kept trying to run.

When IAN started putting ads all over this site is when things changed, IAN are you aware that your site is constantly spamming spyware and viruses to your users because of those ad's?
