>>>>>>In fact, the crisis is still growing because we are continuing to dump 90 million tons of global-warming pollution every 24 hours into the atmosphere — as if it were an open sewer.>>>>>>
If true, that's 25 pounds PER DAY for every man, woman and child on earth!!!! Can he provide support for this??
90 million tons is 180 billion pounds for 7 billion people per day averages out to 25 pounds per person. That includes all the underdeveloped countries. Can anyone provide scientific research for this or am I supposed to accept it as gospel because Mr. Gore said it was so.....?Unless he is including as pollution the carbon dioxide that we all breathe out after inhaling oxygen. If so, how does he propose to eliminate that....

At sea level there's 14.7 pounds of air pressing down from above for every inch. That means that the total weight of the air we breathe is 14.7 times the entire square area of the Earth in inches. Which is roughly 12,000,000,000,000,000,000 pounds.
90 million tons isn't nearly as huge a number when compared to that. The problem is that the 90 million tons isn't being taken out as fast as we're putting it in. So there's buildup. We don't have to stop polluting, we just have to trim it down and or increase the Earth's ability to cleanse the air. The only problem lies in not doing anything. Was it that bad to mostly eliminate leaded gasoline for example? I'd say not, now its time to take some more steps that we can all learn to deal with the same way we've dealt with unleaded gas.
