You're right:

Boos as Ron Paul wins CPAC straw poll - Jonathan Martin and Jessica Taylor - POLITICO.com

As the results were displayed on twin large screens in the ballroom – and even before Republican pollster Tony Fabrizio could announce who won – a cascade of boos came down from a crowd that views Paul and his fervent supporters as an irritant. Paul’s backers responded with cheers, though, when their candidate was then proclaimed by Fabrizio as the winner.

CPAC organizers were plainly embarrassed by the results, which could reduce the perceived impact of a contest that was once thought to offer a window into which White House hopefuls were favored by movement conservatives.

A spokesman for the conference rushed over to reporters following the announcement to make sure they had heard the unmistakable boos when the screen first showed Paul had won the straw poll.

...Interesting dynamics at CPAC....

Paul is a good guy but the last thing they need is somebody who is going to kiss that rotten Pelosi Gangs ass, Reid, Pelosi, Schumer and the rest of them are nasty vicious Partisian scum.

Gee, gosh, wouldn't it be wonderful if they could find an Eskimo or an Amazonian Lesbian that would steal a lot of the "Loon Vote"

It wasn't everyone there, you had to specifically choose to go to a booth and wait in line to vote so only those who really wanted to make a statement actually voted.

Why the sarcasm towards Fox from our li'l ol' lady, I'm not sure

Why wouldn't everyone want to do that? The Reds used to use this straw vote as an early indicator. The reaction of the crowd might indicate the importance of the vote to them.
Myself, I could care less. Paul will be savaged by the right because he is not a hawk. This poll means nothing to the election in 2012. It's up to the corporations who wins, now.

People boo'd. What else would you expect I guess. Romney got cheers. Too many people at these types of functions, are focused on style, as opposed to substance. I guess the fact that Paul did win, means more people are paying attention, than not. Still, Paul is unelectable nationally. Maybe if the election were this year he might have a punchers chance, but in 2012 he won't.

I wanted Ron Paul to win in the last election. It is great that at this moment he is the front runner. He knows how to fix the economy and I hope 2012 he will be our new president!!!
