What in the world is wrong with that? Both political parties have always been active in schools, as have other political groups.

As far as Alinsky goes, Rules for Radicals is a good book, and I bet some the Tea Party leaders have read it, since the book talks about how people can challenge entrenched powers.

What makes you think public money is being used? That a teacher passed out the applications? To me, your point in some ways as extreme as those on the left who object to high school students forming their own religious clubs (which also requires negligible staff time). Now if the teacher gave some long speech about how great Obama is, it would be a different matter.
