Yeah, that was quite the racist comment. Much like Harry Reid...I guess is was great that our president didn't sound "black: last night, huh Chris?
But it's always the conservatives who are viewed as hatemongering racists...

The liberals here are hiding behind their screen names again. There's been a lot of this in the blogoshpere of late. Some distancing themselves, the same ones who were so euphoric last January. Run along now little liberals So sad for them the Bush presidency is not the enemy anymore.
I dunno, I don't see black or white a lot of the time until someone feels they need to play some kind of a race card....including with Obama.
I'll never forget watching a superbowl football preview of the Colts-Bears match-up and the who's gonna win question was asked to Brain Cox. He said he didn't know who'd win but the one thing he did know was that the coach was going to be black.
I thought, huh? where did that come from? Race was not on my mind at all before he said that. I was mad because talk like that prolongs race healing and divides people more in my opinion.

Out of all the media and TV news people who watched and reported on the speech that drooling yelling rude Matthews was the only one to "turn it racist" and mention skin color, MSNBC should realize that Olderman/Matthews are a large factor in their decline to the bottom of the left wing media ***** pit, that and their own liberal bias.

I am just the messenger "it's political news" this is a political forum.......
Matthews was trying to "kiss A$s" and make himself look "racially cool" and it backfired on him, he's a phony, I grew up in a Black neighborhood and lived there for the first 30 years of my life, the Black guys I hung around with wouldn't be caught dead with a phony like Matthews, they can't "really trust" the Matthews of the world.
The staunch Obama supporter meant it as praise, but it caused a rapid furor, with many calling the quote a troubling sign that blackness is viewed — perhaps unconsciously — as a handicap that still needs to be overcome.
Apparently, Matthews forgot to ask black people if they WANT to be de-raced.
"As a black American I want people to remember who I am and where I come from without attaching assumptions about deficiency to it," said Dr. Imani Perry, a professor at Princeton's Center for African American Studies.
Although she thought Matthews was well-intentioned, she found his statement troubling, because "it suggests that if he had remembered Obama's blackness, that awareness would be a barrier to seeing him as a competent or able leader."
