If not, it is astounding to me that when push comes to shove we seem to be way closer on tax positions (speaking for you, BSR, and me,) than our previous conversations would have indicated. Either makes you guys socialists or makes me a corporate shill, not sure which.

Well, everyone hates taxes (and no one moreso than myself) but I certainly recognize the fact that the government needs revenue. I just find it frightening when roughly 25% of people taking part in a poll indicate that they want the top marginal rate to be 70% or greater.
These same people don't seem to realize the super-rich don't get to be super-rich because of their actual salaries. They pretend not to be interested in taxing capital gains at such a high rate, but they are not fooling anyone.
