Default Could we please know why a thread is closed?

Seriously, I'm not asking for much, but it would be nice to know which mod closes a thread, and for what reasons. Such information would go a long way in knowing what it is that is acceptable, and what is not. However, doing so would also tell us which mods close stuff simply cuz they don't like the topic being discussed, or the criticisms being levied. Still though, closing a thread anonymously leaves too much to be assumed IMO.

Just my 2 cents.

That is an Ian issue and probably has to do with the software being used. In the recent situation the person who started the thread closed it an objected when a mod opened the thread up again the mod locked the thread at the request of the OP.

I know Patters, and FTW, used to sometimes type in bold, why the thread was locked, and to "contact so & so if you would like to have the thread re-opened". I think doing that for closed threads would clear up some questions posters might have.

The OP, IcyPatriot, felt the thread had been hijacked so decided to delete it, which is permissable per patsfans policies for subscribers. I undeleted it, but he protested, so I closed it, and then, after consultation with Ian deleted it.
