Oprah

She can make anyone a millionaire overnight. Her power is endless.
Honestly she has got to be one of the most powerful people in the world. The blind follwoing that she has, she could make or braek anyone overnight if she wanted to. Kudos to her for not weilding her power in this way. But would anyone out there want to cross her? Not me.

There seems to be a void in the most powerful man in the world. A number of years back I might give Alan Greenspan a nomination, but not now. The President usually is a good choice, tho Cheney probably wields more power. As a matter of fact, I don't see any politician yielding absolute power right now. Industry always had its characters, Ken Lay was said to have more influence then Cliinton or Bush during thier terms. Ted Turner dominated when CNN was king. Now, there are many carriers and no king. Speaking of Kings, whoever was in power of Saudi Arabia always carried many votes, Not anymore. My hunch is that it is some little known guy behind the curtain making lots of loot and controlling many people's lives while keeping a low profile. Sorry, I couldn't come up with a name.

Has to be Bush, with Putin a close second.

I might have said the current Chinese leader, since China has a capable military, fewer enemies, and about 5 times as many people as we have. However, unlike here, I think China has some checks and balances at the top level; the top dog cannot start a war without some sort of approval.

But, outside of the brute power that Bush can wield, I would say people like Oprah, Mandela, Clinton (outside the U.S.), and maybe even bin Laden command an amazing amount of power.

Bill Gates, he has the ability with the "automatic update downloads" part of his Windows program to literally bring the world to their knees with a computer virus. Imagine an evil Bill Gates (with the Alternate Universe Mr. Spock Go-T) holding the world hostage. "Bring me Britney Spears, or I will fry all your mother boards, HAHAAAAAA."

Bush has MANY people that he has to answer to. He has to even ask for permission to have a "potty break" from Condo Rice...when in a conference.

China will be VERY powerful...when their economy starts to kick in -- and their Renminbi (RMB) will top all other currencies. They will have to pull all of their capital out of the USA though (and they will).

Gates is important to society/technology...but he is replaceable.

Oprah is just the top of the food chain for the NAACP/feminist agenda.

Aliens...Hmmmm...yeah...not really.

Any other opins?
