I know you really really want to believe this article is true, and people like you are easily fooled, but it isn't terribly intelligent to put too much faith in such things. One way or another, the money will be there when they need it.

Do you honestly believe that they will have "barely enough money to fully finance a single House race" by the time all is said and done?

2010 is going to be a bad year for "Democratics." No matter how much you try, you are only fooling yourself.

Reporting from Roswell, N.M. - After losing the White House and nearly 70 congressional seats in the last two elections, Republicans are poised for a strong comeback in 2010, with significant gains likely in the House and a good chance of boosting their numbers in the Senate and statehouses across the country.

The results could hamper President Obama's legislative efforts as he prepares to seek reelection and reshape the political landscape for a decade beyond, as lawmakers redraw congressional and state political boundaries to reflect the next census.

Your link doesn't work for me, Harry. I'll just assume it fleshes out its headline.

The only point raised in my own linked news is that the GOP currently has fundraising woes. Wolfie reminds us that the election has not yet been held, which I must admit is the case.

So, the pubbies either will or will not be able to capitalize on the trends we'd historically assume they can take advantage of in a midterm. It's a long way to November.

However, having very little money for a national political party midway to the "next" election, is not good news

Oh well, as Wolf reminds us, maybe the GOP will get some good news later.

You remind me of the Jets fans who "won the Super Bowl" in week 2 when they beat the Patriots.

I wonder if the new "Tea Party" party has anything to do with contributions to the regular GOP being down? Perhaps some of the more conservative members of the GOP who would normally give money to them are now taking their dollars elsewhere? Sarah seems pretty good at garnering donations - I wonder who she's going to gather them for?

I would imagine if that if she and some of the other GOP headliners start stumping for the Tea Party candidates it'll end up hurting the GOP more than anyone.

The Tea Baggers are showing and telling the wimpy republicans how to fight fire with fire.

The republicans have to start acting like democrats (nasty pelosi gang) or they will never come back, the have to drop all that Family Values and Goody Goody God Jesus ***** if they want to appeal to todays f-cked up Pop Culture generation, a good way for the republicans to get the white house back would be to find an Illegal Alien Female who is Half Mexican Half African and is a devout Muslim, the 20 to 40 generation would give her a landslide.

She would be hard to find though anybody carrying that baggage has got to be a democrat.

The FACT is...there are no "sides" in American politics. You of all people should know that.

I have never started a thread that poses either democrats or republicans as being the better (or worse) of the 2 parties...and I never will.

I guess I'm the only one here who can see the truth.

For all you know, PR, I consider it a national tragedy

My post merely links to a news account detailing the current fundraising problems the GOP is having. It doesn't mean they won't raise more money than the Dems between now and November. It merely means they are behind where they would like to be.

I note that one of our reliable righties is reminded of a Jets fan somehow, who thinks he has won the SB in week 2. Far from it. If historical trends hold true, the Dems should LOSE seats in the midterm election. However, the Republicans are having a hard time translating that to early fundraising success.

Their failure thus far is certainly no guarantee of a November election fail.
