I saw Al Gore on a Saturday Night Live rerun last night. He was saying (in his usual smarmy, condescending way) that he was in New York and it was (gasp!) 60 degrees in November!

Could someone please go to the former Vice President's 14,000 square foot energy wasting mansion and inform him that here in January we are experiencing record cold all up and down the eastern seaboard as well as in big sky country? K thx bye.

Sure it does. One definition of "smarmy" is unctuous. And before you claim unctuous is a "new word", it is defined as "characterized by excessive piousness or moralistic fervor." And everyone knows Al Gore is excessively pious and moralistic on this subject (not to mention more than a bit hypocritical).

First you didn't realize it was a word, and now you're saying it doesn't make sense? Do you ever get tired of making a fool of yourself?
