He was elected as the hardliner in a pretty hardline country, and his rhetoric from the begining has been very fiery (saying that Israel should be blown off the map).

It's tough to know what these people are really thinking, though, since the diplomatic world is such a stage. My guess is if this guy gets nukes, they won't just be for self-defense. I'm also of the opinion that some people you can't reason with, and he might be it.
You might be right about that. However, haven't we been down this road before? I recall some pretty hysterical rhetoric emanating from our "liberal" media in the run up to the Iraq debacle. How did that turn out? Did we find the WMD that Tenet called a "slam dunk"? That Cheney said was an imminent threat?

This guy in Iran may very well be crazed. He may also be another paper tiger just like Saddam. Saddam, I've argued, put forth an image of power that was not there simply to deter aggression from Iran. Now that he's gone, Iran can turn up the heat. Iran has formed an alliance with Shiite Iraq. Iran and southern Iraq are now positioned to compete with Saudi Arabia in the world's oil market. Furthermore, we now know that Saddam was scheduled to start selling oil in euros, coincidentally this was the same time period in which we launched the invasion. Now, Iran is also positioned to do the same thing. We hear now that they are an imminent threat.

I don't know what the level of Irans capability is. I do know that the "trust us" claim from the war hawks like psychopath neo-con James Woolsey and Richard Perle have backfired before, and I'm skepitcal to give them the same benefit of the doubt at this point.

I guess the Iranian embassy hostage crisis was Bush's fault too right? Seeing as how radical Islam loved us prior to his liberating Iraq.

Why don't we hear a peep out of these whack job phony's on the subject of Bush not doing a damn thing about the Smelly Mexican Illegal Criminal Aliens sneaking across our borders daily.

What do the Democrats think about Illegal Aliens, they could crucify Bush on this, but they don't, WHY?
I can't support being gung-ho about our immigration laws when you know that the people coming over are just trying to makes ends meet and feed their families. Unlike them, you're a stinking piece of crap and I wish we could exchange you for a "Smelly Mexican Illegal Criminal Alien". As a wider topic, borders need to be entirely open. Who the ****** said America belongs to anyone?

Bush is just in favor of illegal immigration because it means cheap labor for his business buddies.

You have good points. I learned long ago that for the rich and powerful it's rarely about ideology, it's usually about money. He might very well not care about the "Islamic struggle against infidels" as much as looking out for business interests, in which case he's blowing smoke. But he scares me, and it's not because of anything the administration has said, it's because of what's he's said and done.

What has he done? I know he's said alot of inflammatory statements, but so has Pat Robertson- another religious zealot. (Theres no shortage of those these days)

Pat Robertson is a private person, not the head of state of a country that has nuclean ambitions and means, by their own admission. If Pat Robertson held office, I'd be very worried.

Iran is bad, but Saudi Arabia is worse. Do you really think Saudi Arabiia doesn't have the bomb? Attack Iran, while Saudi's touch off Nukes in our cities. That would be cause to attack Algeria. Anybody but who's really responsible, that's our new MO. We should attack whoever Fox tells us to. That sounds like solid policy.

Either we head toward a single world government in the next 100-200 or killing for land and resources is going to be the norm.
