Obama polling even w/Reagan
After 1 year in office, Obama's polling about the same as Reagan after a similar amount of time (both 49% favorable, Reagan with one more percentage point unfavorable.)

This ignores the fact that some less popular figures (ultimately) polled much better at this point in their presidencies. W, mentioned seriously as a contender for worst president evah, was running 84 percent positive, but that was after bad guys ran planes into buildings a couple months prior.
By the time he was up for a second term, however, Dubya barely squeeked through to get his first popular-vote victory.
