Imagine our sun was a grain of sand. Voyager 1 is roughly 23.5 feet away from that grain of sand. The next closest star would be another, slightly but not significantly bigger grain of sand - and roughly 9.25 miles away.

Those are the things that keep me up at night.

This kind of stuff makes me astonished that people think there's no other life in the universe.

Have you seem the Hubble ultra deep field photos? (I think that's what they're called). It is truly awesome how vast the universe is if you give it any real thought.

Yes it is. I have a lot of those Hubble photos in the rotation for the wallpaper on my laptop here.

EDIT: Extending the above "grain of sand" analogy, the Milky Way Galaxy would be as wide as roughly 27 Earths laying side by side.

I saw a Giant Salimander on Natl Geographic, it had two little things on each side of it's body that looked like little tiny arms at the end of them they had little things that looked like hands on the ends of these they hade five little nubs that looked like fingers.

Jesus Christ, what are we, where did we come from, where did the universe come from, does the universe end anywhere, is there some kind of life for us after death, does the tunnel with the bright light really take us to a "new place"

Who wrote the bible, how did he know all that *****.................

Has anybody on this forum ever had "immediate dentures"?
