Basically she was complaining that Bush is intentionally stocking the supreme court with radical conservatives. Savage pointed out that 6 of the justices are liberal leaning, and how Diane could possibly consider Aliti a conservative extremist.

Actually, ELOrocks, no one would call Justice Kennedy left, and even Souter forms his positions based on privacy issues, not on a leftwing agenda. Also, Savage was obviously including O'Connor in his count.

Yes, I did catch him yesterday. He was trying to rob us of our civil liberties again. No rights for anyone, unless you can afford them.

The only "extremists" he points out are those that aren't in lock-step with the extreme right. We are all traitors in his mind for exorcising free speech.

Who is Johnson? Did you mean Roberts, perhaps?

I would order the Court like this:

Radical right: Thomas, Scalia
Conservative: Kennedy
Moderate: Souter
Liberal: Ginsburg and Stevens

I expect Alito to be radical right, and Roberts conservative, though he too might be far right.

Clinton won Republican support for Ginsburg. She was considered moderate when she was nominated, and I believe she is fairly moderate, except on social issues, where she is liberal. Souter was considered conservative, and from what I understand a case could be made that he's still conservative. He bases his decisions on the right to privacy; that's why he has come down in favor of gay rights and abortion. He's not pro-abortion, but he's against the government interfering with a woman's body.
