Mystery as spiral blue light display hovers above Norway | Mail Online

Kinda cool, the story contains both pictures and video....

Peeps here are speculating its a failed rocket launch. I'm thinking a glitch in project blue beam for the conspiracy buffs...

It COULD also be a crude promotion for the film 'Kung-Fu Hustle' (Lollipop)...

anyway...like I said...its kinda cool.

OK, WTF is that.

It does kind of look like a giant lollipop. It does seem to be projected from the hillside on the right. Any clue on the purpose of this...thing? Is this a fancy light show or something else.

ETA:

The video is even more creepy. Still looks to be some kind of projection, something reflecting off of the ice crystals in the air. IDK though, it's wacked.

If you look at the lower right side of the circle, it looks like something bright coming from the ground. My guess it a projection of some type. Problem is, what is it reflecting against?

And the third picture with the blue light, looks to be coming from the same location.

It's a projection of light from the ground...the same pattern in the column of light matches up with the spiral pattern in the sky- someone is doing an elaborate light show.

You can see the source of it on the ground in the hill in the first shot. The entire thing looks like a sequence of different distances from the source. Second is the closest, then the first, third, fourth, and finally the video.

Nice hoax by the people doing it.

It's either a spiraling rocket or an EISCAT experiment. I doubt either party (Russian or EISCAT) would claim responsibility so I doubt we will ever know. What ever it was, it sure looked cool.

The spiralling rocket was my impression too, most likely out of control.

And sorry, but any denials from any government saying "we aren't conducting any tests" are not even worth the paper they are printed in.

Can't be a rocket, they leave a different trail than that and would have been a similar pattern to other rocket blasts that have been well documented over the decades.

It's a light show, you can make a similar one on a smaller scale with smoke or fog and flashlights...
