It is a sad day when the views of the President of the United States are so much out of line with the rest of America that the corp of cadets at West Piont whose "NEON-CON" motto is "Duty, Honor, Country" would be considered "enemy territory".

Matthews is a tool, this is the same guy who said that it is not a crime to call Al Queda, I got news for you Chris, it is a crime if you are a Major in the US Army!!!!!!!!!!!

Journalism in this country, and the rest of the world, for the most part is dead. The internet gets the actual "News" out to the people faster, so the talking heads are left to try and entertain. Obvioulsy NBC had decided that they wish to cater to the left, and gear everything they present that way. Good luck selling NBC!!!!

Yeah, either that, or I choose to answer your typical no substance, "you are all pathetic", insult post with an "in kind" post of my own.

You wasted about a minute of all of our time with that crap, so I figured I'd waste a few of yours. You don't want to read *****, then I'd suggest not posting it first. It's a common courtesy.

Every once in a while a liberal will slip and show their true feelings. This is just another example of the disdain for the military liberals have that i was talking about yesterday. To call West Point "enemy territory" is shameful and reprehensible.

Almost all the time conservatives like wolfpack show how dishonest and unethical they are by completely ignoring the fact that the guy walked his statement back almost as soon as he said it.

Generalize much??

Chris Matthews is what he is, an mouthpiece for MSNBC... not the most influential person in his party as is the mouthpiece of the right, Dittoheads Unite...

I guess Matthews would walk back his freudian slip. Most people don't view out troops as the enemy.

A strange venue............... Yeah. It's so very perplexing that the COMMANDER IN CHIEF of all military forces would chose the most esteemed military school in our nation to announce the most significant military announcement of his presidency. A real head scratcher there.

No matter how you SPIN IT, and as much as he personally disdains it, OBAMA is the CiC and the hallowed halls of West Point can NEVER be ENEMY TERRITORY. As much as you on the left feel that way, you are NEVER supposed to say it out loud. Matthews slipped a little there.

p.s. Matthews was reporting. He was covering the event as a function of his channel's NEWS programming. He wasn't on his crappy news commentary show.
I truly believe that some Americans view "THE MILITARY" as something "bad". They fail to see the necessity of having a powerful military. Personally, I'm not happy about us being in either Iraq or Afghanistan. But I also wouldn't want to see another attack upon American soil.

Oh, and the libs here are so "ethical and honest". Hate to burst your BS bubble...... you ain't any higher and mightier then anyone else. In fact, the only difference between libs and cons (in here or anywhere) is that the believe different stuff on the same issues. If you actually think one holds the "moral" superiority over the other then you are either 1) stupid, or 2) deluded. I don't know you well enough to judge.

We're all just jag-offs spouting off our beliefs in here. This self-righteous "we're better then you crap" is tiresome. That's not just you that does it either, we all do it. It's just off the chart here.

btw...... Here's his APOLOGY. Which I believe is sincere. Point is....... as he states himself........... it was a dumb ******* thing to say. All you 72%'ers ( another dumb ******* label, just what we need right?) seem to miss that point.

It's pretty obvious that you and I don't always ideologically see eye-to-eye, but I think this is a very true statement and in this very important issue, we see things very similar. Our military is now used as a political tool most of the time rather than it's true purpose. It's been that way since the 50's.

No it's because I know all he did was engage in a pathetic attempt at backtracking and spin after the fact. I didn't think anyone was actually stupid enough to believe his spin.

Back track, appologize, back pedal, etc. The point is Matthews said it, and he meant it. He's only back tracking, appologizing, back pedaling, etc. cuz he got called out on it. Some people throw things out there in conversation, or without thinking. Matthews knew exactly what he was saying, cuz it's what he wanted to say.
