You have been listening to Fox too long, the reality is that the coverup is often worse than the offense.. they were offered "Captains Mast", but chose to go the Court Martial Route.. the way the military is supposed to work, is that you cannot look the other way.. if you see something wrong you need to report it.

I've never served yet I still know you can't beat up on defenseless people and then lie about it and call yourself a good soldier. If that's what happened then I'm afraid these guys need to be punished and if their actions hindered getting this terrorist scum convicted they need to be punished a lot.

Without knowing anything about what happened other than what FOX news is reporting and bloggers are picking up it's hard to say exactly what's going on.

What's interesting is that most of those who are rallying for the SEALs are the same ones who are screaming "off with their heads" at senators and congressemen and various lawyers running for public office based on poor job performance or private sins.

Why is it that you expect some people to do their jobs perfectly or face the consequences and yet you do not expect these 3 SEALS to have done the same thing?

Make no mistake, being a member of an armed forces is a job - with pay and benefits and rules and regulations.

If every other human being on earth is expected to follow whatever rules and regulations are set forth by their job description why not these guys?

What they're being charged with is violating the rules - why shouldn't they be held responsible if they did so?

But I hate to break the news to you, but the Seals are heroes. Any person who puts his life on the line to save another, I consider that a hero. And the man that the Seals captured, is a savage. Deciding to kill someone simply because they are an American and in your country is bad enough. But to then burn his body beyond recognition, drag them throughout the streets and then hang it up on a bridge for the world to see is the acts of a savage. And then tell me what you feel specifically about the 3 seal member and the terrorist they captured.

Step back from the hysterical edge, the more I read it looks more and more like they beat the guy, good... but then they could not get their stories straight, that is where the real liability comes in... also wonder if someone "rolled over on them"... no court of law wants to get into a he said, he said with a Seal vs. a terrorist...

Parallel this to the victimization by the priests in the catholic church, what they did individually was criminally, but the greatest liablity was by the leaders who looked the other way and attempted to minimize the events...

The greatest sins are often sins of ommission, rather than sins of commission..
