Default Senate Votes To Open The HC Debates

Healthcare reform faces challenges in Senate | U.S. | Reuters

Quote:
On Saturday, Senate Democrats gathered the 60 votes needed to open floor debate on the plan, which would make the biggest changes in the $2.5 trillion healthcare system in 40 years. It is the Obama administration's top domestic policy initiative.

No Republicans backed the procedural motion and a handful of conservative Democrats, whose votes were crucial, supported the floor debate but remained uncommitted to the bill itself.

This was inevitable...it isn't a done deal yet. Democrats have people "uncommitted", which is never a good sign for a controversial bill in an upcoming election year.

Or they are under fire at home...1/3rd are up for reelection in 12 months, the bill, any speeches for or against it, and any votes for or against it will come back to bite them hard in the election.

Very true ... but if you're tired ... get promised a judgeship ... one vote sets you up very nice.

I agree with you guys, there's too much money being thrown around (in both directions), deals being made... just pray the bill morphs into something else, something that won't put the final nail in our economic coffins.
