The organizer of a "Tea Party" protest in Virginia says he intends to move forward with plans to burn House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Rep. Tom Perriello in effigy next weekend at a rally to protest Democratic health care legislation.

That's just wrong.......It's one thing to organize and show up in numbers. Burning anything is in poor taste and it doesn't belong in the argument.....
It also damages their credibility. That's too bad.

It's called "Rage" people are going nuts all over the country, those scumsucking bastard politicians are finally going to start a Civil War.

Over in the middle east they do this all the time, they were always making dolls of Bush and then burning them, in Iraq they cut an American contruction workers head off then they hung his headless body up on a bridge and set it on fire, it looked like a barbecued pig, all the people going to pray at their Mosques had to pass over the bridge as they did they cheered, then they later prayed......

It does and it is.

I know that sooner or later people are going to show up here and offer me links which show someone somewhere burning Bush in effigy, too. Which was also too bad - and which also damaged their credibility - and that damage will be attested to by those who rail against them now and supply the links. People will eventually have to understand that the same things which they hate about "us" are going to be the same things that we will hate about "them." I often wonder if, eventually, people will catch on and just stop it - someone's got to be willing to go first.

It doesn't matter which side or what party or what idealistic individual is doing it - it just looks bad - and it gives "the other side" something very valid to smirk/whine/groan/******/complain about.

I'm unsure what they're trying to prove in Virginia - that they can get 100 people to show up and cheer them on or that they can generate ill will among the thousands who won't be showing up.
