WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama does not plan to accept any of the Afghanistan war options presented by his national security team, pushing instead for revisions to clarify how and when U.S. troops would turn over responsibility to the Afghan government, a senior administration official said Wednesday.

Re: Official: Obama rejects all Afghan war options
Good move NO one has ever won there from Alexander the Great, to the Britsh, to the Soviets. I don't like seeing us have a large land army in that country.
Re: Official: Obama rejects all Afghan war options
You guys are declaring "good move" before there's actually "a move", you have no idea what will result and an increase, dare I say a surge, of troops is still very much in the offing. One of the options, with some revisions, will still be selected. And you guys will blindly say "good move".
LMAO - good move before even know what the move is.

Its an article that cites an "Official"... meaning it could be complete BS.
Thats why I wrote "IF TRUE......"
IF true, pulling our troops out of a region of Earth that couldnt be taken by any and all empires that have existed in modern history, is a DAMN good move.
yes.....we can speculate on that. 8 years of war have gotten us NOWHERE. what are 40,000 more troops going to do?

It's a good move because it signals that he's not willing to commit to an indefinite presence in Afghanistan without a clear strategy for withdrawal.
If he backs down from said requirement, then it will cease to be a good move. Until then, there's nothing wrong with calling it for what it is.

I want us out of Afghanistan as much as anyone - but I'm not going to say "good move" until the move is announced. How can you say "good move" when you have no idea what it is ?
