Obama's in a challenging situation. If he increases the number of troops, the left is going to have a conniption fit. If he pulls out, the right is going to blame him for losing the war. Either way, he gets bruised.

No matter, he needs to make a decision. The longer he delays, the more weak he appears to our enemies and allies.

I would never criticize him for losing the war if he pulled out, it is an unwinnable useless rotten war, good American lives are being lost daily in that filthy land of subhuman savages.

Sorry, but I'm inclined to trust Colin Powell's judgment on this matter more than yours.

For what it's worth, the most recent reports have Obama rejecting all four options that were presented by his advisers. Apparently he's looking for a plan with a more concrete exit timetable and increased pressure on Karzai.

Right or wrong, I'm glad he's taking the decision into his own hands, rather than being swayed by the armchair commandos.
