Lesser of two evils right now. The enemy of your enemy is your friend.

Not saying you because you are pretty new here, but, I guess that explains a lot about the Al-Queada and Saddam sympathizing that goes on with some posters, sad extremely sad.

It's not the Sadam is anybody's friend, it's that some people know that there were more serious enemies.

With Al Queda, I have yet to meet one person who doesn't think we should be going after them - it's the tactics that are dubious.

Libertarians are old-school Constitutionalists who believe in minimal government interference in the lives of the citizens. We believe, like Washington and Jefferson, that government is inherently evil and its role should be as small as possible.

The present administration has expanded its role in Americans' daily lives, increased the tax burden directly and indirectly, and left our kids to pay for a huge trade and spending deficit. They have also continued Johnson's practice of pre-emptively invading another country without just cause. Surveillance of citizens via the "Patriot" Act is particularly abhorent to us. The contuation of the failed "War on Drugs" which includes the heinous Forfeiture Laws is blatantly un-American.
I was equally opposed to the Clinton administration of all of these practices and am not surprised that the present-day democrats have followed in lock-step with these and many other un-Constitutional things

I'm not quite sure where I kissed Clintons or Deans ass. I mentioned that Dean and Robertson are not really comparable, if thats what you mean, except that they say whats on their mind with little regard for its larger effect.

Dean is a populist and he got a huge crowd of youth involved/interested in politics with his campaign. I like that. As far as his positions, I am with him on a few, but not others. Big deal.

I love how you try to pigeonhole everyone though, PFEIL. As if, noone can possibly be independant, they must be either this or that.

Theres nothing hypocritical about me saying I covet the 2nd amendment. I also think the Kelo vs. New London ruling was wrong. These are but two examples of my conservatism. Dean is Dean, and he scares the hell outta the so-called "conservative" reich. I respect him for that because it means he's doing something right in terms of grassroots incitement of political activism. Other than the fact that he never wavered from his anti-Iraq invasion position, there's not a whole lot I agree with hiim on, policy wise.

PFEIL, I don't need to explain myself to you every week, do I? Its like talking to a wall.

Although I have some opinions in common with libertarians (size and charter of govt, social freedoms) I'm not sure I'm a libertarian as I regard the ideology as a bit extreme and way wrong on foreign policy. I'm a Jacksonian in foreign policy. And a pragmatist "Engineerist" in political philosophy.

I was close to being a liberal democrat until the 90s.

I'm probably off the net from Tuesday Jan 10th until February.

Bill Clinton was an ultra left wing whacko? Exactly what bills did he pass during his two terms to make him a left wing whacko?

I feel the same way as far as conflicting with the Libertarian Party ( although I think we're the best option, overall) as far as the border issue goes, and I respect your honesty and forthrightness. You're so friggin' wrong on the occupation of Iraq, though, my friend (IMO).
