Actually, it's probably not any more of a nightmare for Secret Service than the Easter Egg roll which The Whilte House holds every year.

I don't think they get 2000 people for that. As for the trick or treating, do they let the parents come along???Do they check the parents? I remember being scheduled for a White House your in late 2001 (canceled after 9/11) and I had to give my SS# and all sorts of info. I also had to give it when I went to the Supreme Court to listen to oral arguments a few times.
Even if the kids are selected, they still have to check them out to avoid embarrassment. Ask the Vancouver Olympic committee. They have the troch run around the world. Unfortunately they forgot to check out the torch bearers in Greece and ended up with a guy who has a lifetime ban for blood doping carrying the torch. Oops...
