Seems to me that our President(s) are puppets - no more and no less.

The silence from the war protesting left is incredible - why the change?

Would anyone we elect change this policy?
Are you $hitting me????

Bush didn't take the fight to the Taliban and Al Qaeda.

He sent a symbolic force to the Afghan theater and wasted a trillion plus dollars on Iraq - a country that had less to do with housing 9/11 participants than the United States did (they lived and trained in Florida and New England).

Please, I understand that the American people know virtually nothing about the political geography of the Middle East, but Icy, I thought even you knew the difference between Iraq and Afghnistan.

Obama is disengaging from Iraq and going after Al Qaeda and the Taliban

They are moving them a bit furthur from strategic cities. The rules od engagement are not seek, find and kill. We are occupying territory. You need to do your homework on this one. We are seeking, finding and killing in Pakistan but not Afghanistan for fear of killing innocents and angering tribal leaders.

Nice slide.

Once again, how could you make this statement: "2 Presidents who both took the fight to the Taliban and Al-Qaeda."

There is NO comparison to make, Icy.

Say what you will about the current strategy in AfPak (I happen to see it as a work in progess), at least Obama can tell the difference between AlQaeda, the Taliban and Iraq. The last guy saw them the same as 'all dark people'.

The "terrorists" and "insurgents" in the region are no less effective than they were 6 years ago. There is no peace in Baghdad. The heroine is pouring out of the region. Our mere presence still is the ultimate recruiting tool for the opposition.

There are no mission statements or ultimately achievable objectives coming out. The brass on the ground admit this is undoable, but that's not surprising since that has been the fate of every foreign force in that hellhole since Alexander.

What, in your opinion, has changed that gives you any optimism? The fact that the Democrats are in "control"? You can't be serious!

And worst of all, no one in the States gives a flying fu(k! Obama is responsible for the deaths of every American in the Middle East from now on. There's no legitimate reason for US forces to be present there except to perpetuate the status quo.
All I am saying is the agenda next year will be different than this one, if the economy is a lot better.. a lot of other things get magically better.

FYI tend to be very much a pacifist..

It's un-American being a Hessian.

I predict military folk will rebel at Obama's war. Yeah, when's the last time you heard of Afghanistan? And he's doing exactly what Bush would have done in Iraq, keeping a 100,000 troops.

Did you know our embassy in that country is going to be larger than the entire Vatican?

We are supposed to be a commercial republic, not an military empire.

But the media is ignoring Cindy Sheehan as she tries to crash the parties among the beautiful affirmative action overlords in Martha's Vinyard. She’s not a useful idiot anymore….

(cough) Blackwater (cough).

"Yeah, when's the last time you heard of Afghanistan?"

I have heard of Al Qaeda. Didn't know we were at war with Afghanistan, though, State.

Please enlighten us more.
