Pujo is supplanting wistah for the top grasp of libertarian perspective. Well done.
I'm a middle of the roader on many levels, as far as libertarianism goes. Give me liberty or give me death. Don't tread on me. Leave the constituion alone kinda patriot. Low taxes, military
defense, states rights, low spending, balanced budgets, separation of church and state, and pro-individual choice. States Effing Rights!
I can honestly say I've never voted for Clinton, nor the chimp. I vote my conscience, not some moronic choice between the lesser of two evils. But in retrospect, I must say I was impressed with the job Clinton did...even while being harassed constantly by the GOP coup- special prosecuter Starr.
However, there were many things that clinton did that I didn't approve of -Nafta, for one, I didn't approve of the scandal that smeared him and the fact that taxpayers funded a political witch hunt while he was really trying to work on counterterrorism..
I think Kelo vs New London was a precedent for very bad things to come. The eavesdropping scandal is among the most serious of our day. And bird flu is a scary proposition for a nation that can't even get an emergency radio frequency for our first responders. I dislike the grades this administration recently got on its 911 commission update, the final update before their disbanding. I want to know why NORAD wasn't scrambling while planes were doing effing U-turns in the sky for 40 minutes on september 11, 2001, and it took the chimp on the order of 8 minutes or so to react while our nation was under attack. Imagien if it were a nuke attack??????? We'd be toast in 40 minutes!
I think stonewalling the 911 commission was one of the biggest mistakes this administration has made, followed closely by massive deficit spending, borrowing from the country that sent those hijackers here, and the repeal of the second amendment during the katrina debacle. The tops for cronyism, in my lifetime bar none.
I think Richard Clarke and Joe Wilson were unjustly smeared, in addition to an assortment of veterans from both parties, liberal and conservative...for scandalous political tactics. Murtha is right.
I think there is validity to the stories that there was unprecedented voter tampering in the last several elections, and I think if we dont clean up our voting system immediately, we have lost the republic forever. I dont care what you call yourself, if theres not fairness and accuracy in voting...we've lost our country. I support massive campaign finance reform, and a diminished role for K-street. Let the people use a new internet based system to get our opinions to our legislators, with bipartisan/independant oversight. And get the lobbyists the eff out!
I think we need to allow the market to flourish with oversight, but that petro and pharma have cornered their markets and are busy exploiting the people in ridiculous ways.
I think we could have spent a quarter of the Iraq war funds in a much more productive way by launching a massive project to make the US energy independant by the year 2010, and then had the leverage to really tell the islamofascists where to go. I think there is a greater role for espionage, law enforcement and forensics in the war on terror than there is for daisy cutters and MOABs. Not to mention the cost.
Call me crazy, I know. I don't like the impeachable offense of going around the fourth amendment in the NSA scandal! Here's your cookie, crook.
