Lets see, that was back in what....2002...2003? they should be getting around to that soon.

Kinda awesome too that the only positive thing you can say that Bush did, was give money to africa to fight AIDS.

Everyone with with some knowledge and a brain that is working knows why Gore got it, and why they gave it to Obama. It's nothing more than that, plain and simple.

I would really applaud Obama if he declined the award. Or, come out with a statement that he would not attend the award ceremony.

And the right would then accuse him of lacking diplomatic panache.

And for those who will hold this award against the man, he sounds as suspect as anybody else about it.

I bet if we could give him some truth serum, he would admit that he does not actually want the award right now at this point in time.

I do love the arrogance that the right in America has to call the international community "Partisan." As if our bizarre political rift is the model by which everyone else operates.

The right doesn't yet understand that their ideology is at odds with the overwhelming majority of the rest of the world.

107 posts in this thread and you political people need an idiot like me to explain it for you. This is very simple an obvius. By giving Obama the award they have taken away bombing Iran option. Not that he would really. But they have weakened his hand and America's hand in one stroke. This plays right into the hands of Russia, China, India.

Off hand outside of the US the closest entity that the ultra conservaties have a commonality with are the religeous extreamests such as the Taliban.

Both have conservative religious values as their tenents. And the Taliban were just as loud in their displeasure of Obama recieving the prize as the conservatives here.

Other than these folks the ultra conservatives have few if any like minded allies. And of course the irony is that even though they share the same values they are sworn enemies.

The prize committee is assigned by the Norwegian parliament, which is I believe socialist, based on their track record the pick of BO is not surprising but humorous.

We just have to try to evaluate them the best we can."
