Default One Fan's View Of Limbaugh's Interest in The Rams

Interesting post by this guy ... he makes a few good points in here ... interesting.

He's a Ram's fan from Denmark ...

Limbaugh, Checketts join in bid for Rams .. - Page 5 - The ClanRam Forums

Quote:
Is it really so far out to think that players would be less likely to sign with the Rams with a crazy rascist at the wheel? Would Donovan McNabb sign with Limbaugh's team? .........

If he bought the Rams how long until he shouts abuse (racial, political, religious or otherwise) at the opposing teams' players? How long until he does it against one of our players who rubs him the wrong way (wrong skin color, doesn't believe in God, is gay or a million other little things that will trigger this wacko)?

We all know he can't keep his mouth shut for 10 seconds and doesn't think before he speaks, that's what he's doing for a living (very successfully too - he's probably the world's most successful troll). I don't see how it would help us but I see lots of ways in which it could be detrimental.

The first thing I thought of, was how will he fit amongst the billionaire boys club and will the NFL vet him particularly as he has had such significant drug problems???... OTOH Roger Goodell and his inner circle will probably welcome him as they would fear his wrath on the radio...

He has certainly let his feelings be known about many things.. do not see him being a real good fit.

Maybe they will let him proceed and then he will have to sit out for a 4 game suspension

Will he change the name to the St. Louis Dittoheads... ????

More on the St. Louis Dittoheads.. from Roman Oben, now retired... wonder if this is a voice in the darkness or a more common thought..

The League Panelists: Rush Limbaugh buying the St. Louis Rams is going to hurt the NFL team more than help - Roman Oben

Quote:
I'm not sure what's lower: Rush Limbaugh's approval rating in the African American community or JaMarcus Russel's passer rating. But in a league of professional athletes who are mostly African American and come from humble backgrounds, a Limbaugh-owned Rams team would neither elicit the warmest reception by the players in the locker room, nor would it attract the free agent who is weighing options on his NFL future.

Anyone who has made a living bashing political leaders and their policies by vicious and unethical personal attacks, accused actor Michael J Fox of "exaggerating the effects of Parkinson's disease," made racially-charged comments about Donovan McNabb's ability as a black quarterback and hypocritically called for harsher punishment for minorities charged with low level drug crimes while himself being criminally addicted to oxycontin for many years, does not represent the honor, integrity and dignity for which the NFL shield is supposed to represent.
Here is a compendium of Rush's greatest comments that might violate the sanctity of the NFL...

A few more players are voicing their concern... I suspect that this will get contagious... but I suspect when push comes to shove, the almighty dollar will dictate...

Kiwanuka says he wouldn't play for Limbaugh-owned team | ProFootballTalk.com

Quote:
"All I know is from the last comment I heard, he said in [President] Obama's America, white kids are getting beat up on the bus while black kids are chanting 'right on,'" Kiwanuka said, per the New York Daily News. "I mean, I don't want anything to do with a team that he has any part of. He can do whatever he wants, it is a free country. But if it goes through, I can tell you where I am not going to play.
Quote:
If he's rewarded to buy them, congratulations to him," McNabb said, per the Daily News. "But I won't be in St. Louis anytime soon."

Quote:
Jets linebacker Bart Scott echoed the sentiment. "I know I wouldn't want to play for him. He's a jerk. . . . What he said [about McNabb] was inappropriate and insensitive, totally off-base. He could offer me whatever he wanted, I wouldn't play for him. . . . I wouldn't play for Rush Limbaugh. My principles are greater and I can't be bought."

Would Rush get fined by the NFL if he got hooked on oxycontin again? lol

LOL

Rush didn't say that McNabb was a bad QB. He said that the media gives him a pass, or makes him out to be better than he is because he's a black QB, and there aren't many black QB's that succeed in the NFL. What is false about that? I don't think it's racist...even if you think it's an incorrect statement.

If you read the comments it was offensive to McNabb... so all the rest is a wash.

OH. So if someone is offended by something, that makes it incorrect? That makes it racist?

When the media slams TO for being a "cancer," or other such things, is it incorrect if TO is offended by it?

Yeah I think Rush was taking a stab at the media at McNabb's expense. I think McNabb felt insulted because Rush said that he was never all that good but the media elevated him as an elite because they wanted to see a succesful black quarterback. LOL, after the Pats beat the Eagles in the Superbowl Letterman had some top 10 things McNabb said about the game and one of them was "oh my God, Rush was right!"

Limbaugh loves football but he would create a ***** storm if he was an NFL owner. I'd avise him to keep out.

At the time, McNabb's stats were excellent and his presentation was good, too, and he was clearly one of the elite qbs. He is still one of the few qbs in modern history who was a dangerous passer and rusher as well, so he was certainly one of the more exciting qbs. There was no particular reason to say that that the media praised him because of his race. Had he been white, he would have been held in equally high regard. Do you think Tony Romo most years got so much press because he's white?
