An interesting theory about all of this, was that OBL orchestrated all of what he did not only to impact our infrastructure and psyche.. but to drag us into the diaspora of the Middle East.. the same middle east that has destroyed many great countries.. once we fully commit, we cannot win or ever get out.

Maybe he needed an organization like us to move his product for him? We have been his best partner over the years, haven't we? Makes sense when you consider how long he has been able to "evade" us.

Bin Laden is completely against the drug trade, and is supremely patriotic and ethnocentric when it comes to 'his people'.
The only people at the top growing, and moving product, are Americans and Brits, who are the biggest drug peddlers on the planet.
Afganistan had almost no drug crops in 2001, until we went in there and made it happen.
Bin Laden was a CIA asset for 30 years. I wouldn't be surprised if he still is a CIA asset, making timely videos for his buddy Bush a few years ago, and this is the reason we still can't catch him (because we don't want to).

Another factor here is that the Russians bombed the crap out of their croplands... and after they left it was easier to grow Poppies than veggies..
Bin Laden is against the drug trade for his people, but not for our people...
