Plot
Set in 1997, Elite Squad follows the lives of a BOPE captain, Nascimento, and two potential BOPE officers and childhood friends, Neto Gouveia and André Matias, and their experiences revolving the visit of the pope John Paul II to Rio de Janeiro. It visualizes the struggle against the high levels of corruption eminent in the city and depicts the drug trafficking militias which have virtual control within the favelas while the police run their criminal enterprises outside.

Yeah. The posting of this article has no predetermined political slant to it or anything. That's like a right winger posting an article about the left wing not think that Bush's missile defense plan is a good idea and saying "Shocker: The left hates Bush more than it "loves America". Dumb ass thread.

You're reading my mind. Was going to say the same but lost interest. Good job. Keep on keeping on.

Did you just accuse me of having a political slant in the political forum? I knew you weren't the brightest bulb in the box, but wow.
Just shows how f*ed up mainstream conservatives are today.
I also think it supports the belief that conservative project their own sick values when they said in the past that liberals want the United States to lose in Iraq or elsewhere. Except for fringe elements, most liberals are just not that corrupt.
That said, there are signs that some Republicans have the guts to wake up. For instance, Bill Frist, Bob Dole, and Lindsay Graham have been distancing themselves from the mainstream of the Republican Party and taking more reasonable stands as of late.
And Matt Drudge who's apparently so giddy that Chicago won't hosting the olympics that he has half the page dedicated to it and highlighted in red "alert, alert, hysteria!" font, provides us with giant bold heading that reads "The Ego Has Landed" with a link to this article:
I think every American would love to have the Olympics. The sad part is that Obama is slowly but surely becoming an international joke. After the messiah's lame and failed attempt to bring the Olympics to Chicago it only gets worse. I don't understand why people thought Obama was so respected he could get the Olympics. I would much rather have them here but congrats to Rio. By the way, this is a shocker...

Did you just skip over Patters post or what?

I love your spin. By your logic every other leader who went to the IOC and pitched for the games to be in their city is also "slowly but surely becoming an international joke?"
I'm curious as to what sets Obama apart here from the rest of them. Also, what makes his failed attempt "lame?" were other failed attempts not lame? why is that?
The fact that you are knowingly trying to spin this as a lack of respect for Obama around the world is exactly what this thread is about. Go to nearly ANY country and ask ANYONE you meet who they like better, Obama or Bush and see what answer they give you.
The kind of low partisan hackery you display in your post is beyond pathetic, especially since you know you are just being an opportunistic little weasel.

I knew I wasn't talking to a genius either, but I kind of figured that you would understand that people would generally consider your thread more informative and less hate-driven if it didn't have an automatic left wing slant. Like I said, I can go and find an article by a rabid right wing author about how the left hates America. Does that make it true? Nope. But I wouldn't expect you to see that.
Please, feel free to leave this thread as well (just like you've done in every single other one when the going got tough...)
