unfortunately many non-religious folks diddle children as well. But to label all of them child molesters because of a few cases in the news would be something only an idiot would do wouldnt it?

Not if you have a grudge against religion as some have

There are much more than a few, also as children we were taught to trust men of the cloth.. look what happened. The subsequent coverup was just as appalling... see Cardinal Law.

Perhaps no one close to you has ever felt the reality of this, if it does it may strike you somewhat differently... for the grace of god I was not vulnerable enough for these sanctimonious half lives...

We're not talking about your pedestrian religious folks. We're talking about clergy, which has always been my big problem with religion since I was very young. They prance around in their silly costumes as if they are different from the rest of humanity and claim to have a special relationship with this god or that god. They are lazy liars who do nothing that no one else can without such a foolish claim. They use their alleged position of power to get away with things that most others wouldn't dare and probably couldn't. They are worse than politicians because politicians don't claim supernatural powers. Such a claim makes people who aren't so questioning of authority trust them more. It's no wonder why such a large percentage of the clergy are criminals compared to their claim of righteousness.

I'm so glad my father sniffed out their wierdness and forbade me from being an alter boy. Two priests I would have been doing masses with were eventually "moved along" throughtout the diocese for years until they got caught diddling.
