You see, I tried to soften the blow by referring to Republican leaders, not Republicans, and I already defended the song in an earliest post without referring to Bush. But, the funny thing is, you seem to be creating a new layer of hypocrisy, since in an earlier post you referred to Bush: "They are despicably partisan; just imagine if we had kids singing this ***** to Bush."

I'd call that rationalization. Certainly singing a song in some obscure New Jersey school is less significant in many ways than singing a song in the White House to the first lady. In fact, the lyrics were picked up by at least the WSJ, spreading the words of praise afar.

At any rate, as I said earlier, not everyone thinks politically, and kids are kids. I don't think either example is part of some nefarious plot, and I think to make it an issue is perhaps a little paranoid.
