Census Taker Found Hung near Kentucky Cemetery...
Mondo Bizarro.. hard to figure this one out, hopefullly it was a crime of passion and not a crime against someone doing their job... without regard, another senseless killing.. fed on the dead man's chest is a pretty elaborate way to commit suicide.. or ????
Wasn't Clay County one of Jesse Jame's Haunts.. upon further review there are Clay County's all over the place.
The Associated Press: AP source: Census worker hanged with 'fed' on body
Quote:
The body of Bill Sparkman, a 51-year-old part-time Census field worker and occasional teacher, was found Sept. 12 in a remote patch of the Daniel Boone National Forest in rural southeast Kentucky. The Census has suspended door-to-door interviews in rural Clay County, where the body was found, pending the outcome of the investigation.
Investigators are still trying to determine whether the death was a killing or a suicide, and if a killing, whether the motive was related to his government job or to anti-government sentiment

Questions surround Laurel County man's death
An article with a picture of the guy...

Gutt feeling he stumbled on something that someone didn't want him to see...pot or meth lab maybe?

Yeah because meth labs are what immediately spring to mind when you think of a guy working on demographics that affect voting rights, found dead by hanging in a rural area, dare I say it, in the south.
Eh, you may end up being right.
Or, you may have a moment of clarity on your hands, when you recognize what a lot of the "anti-government" anger is still about, ever since those bad government people guarded the schools to let different colors of children learn together, despite the pleas of the "downtrodden" segregationist.
Now then -- if this is a suicide, or someone comes up with a meth lab, sorry to have jumped to conclusions. Indeed, I haven't done so. But I have a gut feeling too, and it ain't pretty.
Hope you're right. Drugs would be a pretty comforting explanation.

I hope this guy was murdered.... Men that asphyxiate themselves while waxing the dolphin, are often found in a not to flattering position. When I say hope I mean as an alternative, because he's already dead.

Seems like a big jump to say he was murdered. Bein' 51 and basically unemployed isn't exactly what the guy had in mind 30 years ago I bet. I say we let the authorities, including the FBI if they think its worth a look, do their jobs before jumping to conclusions.

Some people just can't live without mentioning race.

How old are you, RW?
You are aware that race and lynchings in this country have a historical correlation, I hope?
You are also aware, I would hope, that in very recent history racists have used the symbol of the noose to intimidate African Americans?
Let me know if these two facts have somehow never made an appearance on your radar screen.
That's where race was "brought up" in this context, not my pointing it out.

I'm old enough to know that a lot of people in this forum need to get a life. Some people, from both sides of the isle mind you, can't get through a single thread without mentioning race, or racism, in some way.
Yeah, some white guy is hanging from a tree in Kentucky, and we need to to be reminded that nooses were once used to intimidate black people at some point in time. I gotcha.
