There's a psychosis in the Middle East that can only be healed with the passage of time. Delusional thinking and paranoia exist on both sides. We saw a little bit of that right after 9/11, when virtually all Americans were gung ho for finding an enemy to kill. The sad part is that politicians manage to exploit each tragedy as if it's represents something much bigger than it is. Most people, Israeli or Palestinian, just want to get on with their lives and don't care much about their neighbor's beliefs as long as their neighbors mind their own business. At any rate, it's good to see Obama attempting to be more evenhanded with regards to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, but with nuts like Netanyahu and Hamas as players, it seems like peace isn't going to happen any time soon.
