Default Misplaced Fears about Presidential Advisors, AKA czars..

Interesting piece from David Rifkin, who served under Reagan and Lee Casey, who served under George... argue that the prez has a right to appoint advisors with no congressional ovesight..

This op ed provides some balance and sanity to this argument..

Quote:
Some of the positions many are now criticizing have existed for years. As The Post reported this week: "By one count, Bush had 36 czar positions filled by 46 people during his eight years as president." Historically, presidents have turned to special advisers.

Hutchison's frustration at being unable to tell whether the czars are imposing the administration's agenda on agency officials who have been confirmed by the Senate is misplaced. Legally, they can do no such thing. The Constitution vests all executive power in the president, creating a unitary executive, and it is his authority to execute the laws that federal officials exercise, subject to his direction.

It is just precious when Liberals use GW Bush, OF ALL PEOPLE, to defend what Mr. Change is doing.

Besides, the point about the czars isn't the number of them but many of them are total pyscho freaks.

HAHAHAHAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Libs consider revealing information about WHAT A PERSON HAS WRITTEN AND SAID PUBICLY, as slander, OTOH a smear job on Robert Bork and Thomas were fine....

What a joke.

The diff is before the dems had the MSM carrying water for them, now with the internet and cable and the dying MSM they no longer have a lock on information going to the public.

No matter how many times you repeat that Harry, it won't change the fact that Bush was allowed to govern up till his brilliant plan to attack Iraq, while Clinton was given a few months and Obama hadn't even unpacked before your pals were in full obstruct mode.

Why would anyone like the fact that a president of any party, can appoint tens of czars to positions, to escape the scrutiny of congress? I think this is a situation where people would understand a couple appointments in certain situations. However, we've reached a point where there's a czar for everything. I'm not fan of how far it's gone.
