Curley, murderer and rapist, not allowed to go to his father's funeral..
Good decision by the Mass Dept of Corrections, even though it appears that they were intially considering it.. let him greive for his victim, his father would have understood..
Curley's father opposed Jaynes going to the funeral, surprised Jaynes and Sciara are still alive, they are considered "prizes" in the prison world, unless they are in protective custody..
Charles Jaynes, one of two men convicted of murdering 10-year-old Jeffrey Curley of Cambridge in 1997, was scheduled to go to his father’s funeral. But the state’s public safety secretary has suspended the approval of Jaynes’s request, a spokesman for the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security said.
“Upon learning of [the Department of Correction’s] approval of inmate Charles Jaynes’s request, the secretary ordered DOC to suspend the approval pending further review,’’ Terrel Harris said in a statement.

They keep prizes like them separate from the regular prison population...usually won't intermingle with the general population but there are instances where they do get their butts killed by "accident"

I'm with you Darryl ... if you are in the can for any type of crime you don't have the same rights as law abiding citizens ... and that includes the right to some sympathy.

What the parents think is irrelevant IMO. That kid wasn't kidnapped out of his bed or taken from school. The parents were gigantically blowing it as caregivers and their ineptness led directly to this kid's death. What either has to say, now that they've learned parental behavior is important, means schit.

So we blame parents for the actions of the adults who killed and raped this kid... whether or not the parents should or should have imput, Jaynes should not be allowed to go to this funeral.. the reality is that the CO's with him are at risk, this is one of the most hated people in Mass.

How is that?
The fact that someone in DOC even considered letting these sub-humans out for anything is a crime. Whoever that idiot id should be fired yesterday! Parents input should not have mattered and that's the only thing I agree with you on this.

They only changed their decision after Mr Curley voiced his objection.
He was allowed to attend the funeral of his sister and mother.
How much does this state spend on murderers attending funerals?
I think whatever the cost, the money could be put to better use.
