How much does this state spend on murderers attending funerals?

I think whatever the cost, the money could be put to better use.

It is not all that much, as they usually have "detail" people as part of the staffing for the day, without regard my concern is for the CO's.. they are in danger, if someone goes after Jaynes.

I am glad to hear that Jaynes is doing his time in Bridgewater.
That place is hell on earth. It is 10 times worst than Walpole.
Then again, He is with the skinners & I am not sure of the quality of
their quarters. I know that Bridgewater for the general populations
is hell. I have been told this from people who have been in both Walpole
(AKA Cedar Junction) and Bridgewater.

Been to Bridgewater about 20 years ago, it is not a nice place at all..

Which one? There are four separate facilities in the complex: Old Colony Correction Center, the hospital, the Alcohol and Substance Abuse Center, and the Treatment Center(where the sex offenders usually go).

The scumbag is in the Old Colony Correction Center part of the complex, rather than the Treatment Center part.

Treatment center I think, it was a pretty big place, went there for a kid who ran away from RI and did a crime in Mass and wound up there.. that kid is now on death row in Fla.. without regard it was worse than most places been to.. alway remember Titticut follies..

OK thanks for the clarification...

Where this guy who got refused a furlough for the funeral is staying is not Club Fed thankfully...but it is also not as bad for them as it should be for him. They at least got smart and put him within a real prison and not the treatment center part of the complex, even if it is medium/minimum security.

If you are interested in this stuff, the kids name... I think he is in his 50's now.. google Stephen Smith/Darla Latham or Danny Eaglin... when he went on trial for his most recent offense, killing a correctional officer, they wanted me to testify on his behalf... I asked if they knew anything about me, as I was a corrections professional.. the PD could not understand why I would not want to still testify on this guy's behalf, and take a free trip to Fla... very weird.. needless to say did not testify. Stephen is currently on death row, for his actions.. deservedly so.

The more I think about it I was in the Bridgewater Med Security facility also, brought some kids to a presentation.. think it was called project peer.. which is a kinder, gentler version of "Scared Straight"...
