Default March On Washington

Tens of thousands of conservative protesters, many complaining that the nation is racing toward socialism, massed outside the U.S. Capitol on Saturday, angrily denouncing President Obama's health-care plan and other initiatives as threats to the Constitution.

The crowd -- loud, animated and sprawling -- gathered at the West Front of the Capitol after a march along Pennsylvania Avenue NW from Freedom Plaza. Invocations of God and former president Ronald Reagan by an array of speakers drew loud cheers that echoed across the Mall. On a windy, overcast afternoon, hundreds of yellow "Don't Tread on Me" flags flapped in the breeze.

"Hell hath no fury like a taxpayer ignored," declared Andrew Moylan, head of government affairs for the National Taxpayers Union, urging protesters to call their representatives. The demonstrators roared their approval.

INteresting how they claimed 1.5 millions, but the Wash DC fire Dept and Wash times said 50 to 70 K... who do I believe.. the washington times never lies, so will go with their figure.. DC fire dept had the same figure.

People have to be careful with some of the rhetoric shown, i.e. next time we will come back with our guns.. seems a lot over the edge, not sure you want these folks to be your poster children.

Comeon Harry,

We're supposed to dismiss them as the "lunatic fringe". "Right wing nut-bags".

What's a million or so people marching on Washington. A mere drop in the bucket. Nothing, I tell you. Move along folks, nothing to see here.

Good for them. I applaud people who make an effort like these people are, regardless of whether or not I agree with them. As always, what I disagree with is being disrepectful, or behaving inappropriately when protesting. OBviously you can't control, or invite, each person that shows up, so there will be some losers in any bunch. Still, so long as they keep it respectful, and orderly, good for them.

Yes, the media would not lie would they.

The British NEWS SAY'S MORE

Even if you think that they are full of crap. LOOK AT THE PICTURES. That one is from the back of the MALL, which if your familiar with DC is what's called the Ticketed area.

Use this gage that's COMMONLY USED TO ESTIMATE SIZE. That 240,000 right there....... But wait, maybe there are a few more strolling down E NW street LOOKING TO GET IN. That from 14th Ave looking towards the Capital and if you ever been there, that SOLIDLY 1/2 mile away.

But Yeah, your right, it must only be a few thousand right. After all, we don't want to believe our lying eyes

For the record. I wouldn't go to one of these dumb things, but it sure is funny to watch you lefties pretend it's nothing.

Have been told time and time again that the Washington Times is the source, do you find it interesting that an overseas newspaper is your source... and goes against what the Wash DC fire dept stated??? Does not make a lot of difference, as I believe in the right to assemble..

Did not say a few thousand.. said between 50 to 70 thousand.. continue with the hyperbole and lies, it suits the rigties well.

Perhaps the Wa Times took the word for the Union employees who work for the DCFD?

One thing that was noticiable after the demonstration the mall wasn't full of trash unlike when the lefties have a demonstration.

I find this most ironic coming from the guy who not more then 10 minutes ago was crying in another thread

I don't care what either paper say's as 1 say's 2M and another 70k (obviously one doens't have a clue). The media lies to us all the time. I don't trust ANY OF THEM..............

I SHOWED YOU ACTUAL PHOTOS.

One of an area that is COMPLETELY FULL and is KNOWN to hold 240,000 people, and another of a coulmn of people 125 feet wide by a half mile long which obviously is more then 50k right there.

I guess your "sometimes" really only counts when it fits your agenda. What a joke.
