The VAST majority of them are working class as well. Historically (meaning since the beginning of time), it's never been pleasant when the working class is pissed off... no matter what country we're talking about. Still, it's great to still see Democracy in action, whether it is this or the healthcare town halls.

My source was the Washington DC fire Dept and the Washington Times.. the sources quoted here are by a foreign paper, and visual observation.. it ain't about dems and republicans, it is about lies, more lies and damned lies...

You don't seriously think that those 60-70K are the only people pissed off with this administration, do you? There are millions out there just like them. I don't think that you do (you're smarter than that), but why are you arguing semantics?

I think the MSM is going to be shocked (as they were in 1994) when the 2010 election results come in and the 'throw the bums out" mentality comes to fruition. The Republicans will benefit, though they shouldn't, being partially responsible for the fiscal mess....
Unlike 2008 without a Presidential race, or Obama to bring out the Democrats and others who hadn't voted before it will be like many other midterm elections with the party in power losing seats.....only this time it could be 30 or more if things go the way they have.....

Let's not beleive our "lying eyes"

By the way, the DC FD HAS NOTHING to do with crowd control on the mall, ABSOLUTLY NOTHING. That is the DC Park Service........... and they don't do crowd estimates anymore (except for Obama's Inagural address) due to budget cutbacks.

No ones has a clue how many were there, just like no one has a clue about the 1M man march in 1999, only guesses bases on arial photos and known carrying capacities for certain areas.

Great point is no one has a clue.. thus no one knows if 1.5 million were there.. which is my initial point

BTW reading this AM on some of the rw blogs, that this is the largest crowd in DC for a protest, another revisionist history thing when MLK spoke in 1963, he filled the whole mall..

At that time there was about 1/2 of the current population.. and not as much transportation opportunities...

http://sathyasaibaba.files.wordpress...uther-king.jpg

Or how about the great resistance to the Viet Nam War.. in the later 60's..

When it reaches this magnitude, then wake me up.. it is very concerning to see signs that say next time "we bring guns".. during the great viet nam protests of the 60's, never saw anything like that.. is anarchy something that the right wants to espouse and adopt?? That will resonate well amongst many folks...

Duh, the discussion was about the size of the crowd, but thanks for playing.. a lot of folks are pissed off, we all know that..

I am arguing the hypocrisy of the right, and how they use sitz to fit their needs along with all of their consistent and continual lies..

When you look at the time lapse movie the mall was pretty much filled...

The area around the reflecting pool held 240k for the inaguration, there were assigned seats and no one under the trees ect, for the protest Sat more people were around the pool as the filled the areas around the trees also and the side streets...
