Got to give it to Hugo ... he would have traded Seymour, wilfork and Warren for some arms and loans if given the chance. Dealing with Hugo is easy ... recognition and power and make America look like losers. He can get elected over and over again playing that game. Seriously - this is a non-story I just felt like talking crap about Hugo because I got to give it up for him - he has no shame ... none. We play this game - just like Russia and China. The haves getting frosted by the have nots.
BARVIKHA, Russia (Reuters) – Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez cemented a closer alliance with Russia on Thursday, recognizing two pro-Russian rebel regions of Georgia as independent and securing arms supplies and loans in return.
Chavez's move to recognize Abkhazia and South Ossetia is a rare diplomatic success for Russia, which has tried for over a year to persuade its allies to follow its lead and treat the two small regions as sovereign. Only Nicaragua had agreed so far.

" rare diplomatic success"... does any of this really matter, at best Venezuala is one step above a third world power.. with minimal armaments.. if he did not have oil he would just be another laughingstock..
“We like to say that dependability is more important than ability,” Bill Belichickism....
Is this supposed to elicit a negative reaction from me or are you serious?
If a communist or a socialist employs even PARTS of a maket system in their economy, then they are going against Karl Marx, the Communist Manifesto and pretty much everything that a socialist or communist is SUPPOSED to stand for when it comes to economics.
So pretty much, the Soviet Union and China were "good, ol' fashioned communists" until they realized that a command system really doesn't work and, in order to save their economy from tanking, had to employ elements of the same system that the "capitalist pigs" used. In all, they did it to save their own asses and went against everything a good communist is supposed to believe. The Soviet Union transitioned too late which is why they collapsed. China did it just in time which is why they are thriving.
The bottom line is that socialist or communist regimes are SUPPOSED to run a command system. The fact that they don't makes them hypocrites. It's really not that hard to understand.
